Description
The Quectel RM500Q-GL 5G Cellular Modem is a cellular 5G module optimized specially for IoT/eMBB applications. Adopting the 3GPP Rel. 15 LTE technology, it supports both 5G NSA and SA modes.This is a 5GNR 4×4 MIMO, 4G LTE capable, sub 6Ghz bands only modem. This version does not support mmWave 5G frequencies.
Designed in an M.2 (key B) form factor the RM500Q-GL fits in the same slot type as the Quectel LTE-A Cat 6 module EM06, Cat 12 module EM12, and Cat 16 module EM160R. This helps facilitate customers to migrate from LTE-A to 5G.
NOTE: The RM500Q-GL, and all current market 5G modem modules, are longer than the 4G modem module predecessor, but exactly 10mm. Make sure your device can accommodate this modems longer length. If you need to adapt this modem to your system, and can USB tether modems,

The module supports Qualcomm® IZat™ location technology Gen8C Lite (GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou and Galileo). The integrated GNSS receiver greatly simplifies product design and provides quicker, more accurate and more dependable positioning capability.
A rich set of Internet protocols, industry-standard interfaces and abundant functionalities (USB/PCIe drivers for Windows 7, Windows 8/8.1, Windows 10, Linux, Android) extend the applicability of the module to a wide range of M2M and IoT applications such as industrial router, home gateway, STB, industrial laptop, consumer laptop, industrial PDA, rugged tablet PC, video surveillance and digital signage.
